Why I Wish My Life Was an Episode of "Kath & Kim"

So I figured if I was coming back I should come back with a shabang of randomness - enter the "Kath and Kim" post stage left.

The last few weeks I have felt like my life is in a little bit of a funk. Not necessarily a bad funk, just kind of a weird head space. This afternoon I decided that Kath and Kim had the ability to try to jolt me out of my funny mood and the more I contemplated it, the more I realised that Kath and Kim hold all the answers to life's problems...

Firstly, Kim never seems to work and yet always has the "latest" clothes and a new car every season. Now I know that part of the comedy of the show is the underlying truth that her wealth is based on credit card debt, yet she never seems to have any problems making the payments regardless of how much she stacks on it. This appeals to me

Secondly, I would like to be able to use phrases like "tot" "escapegoat" and "hornbag" in everyday conversation.

Thirdly, Kim was a pretty darn fabulous looking pregnant person. Weight only went on to her tummy and then as soon as she had Epponnee-Rai all the weight miraculously disappeared. While I am at it I would like some of those electronic weightloss machines that she sticks to her tummy. And maybe some fluffy uggs... maybe...

Fourthly, I was well and truly obsessed with parrot earrings when I was in high school. I owned several pairs. Surely it is time for them to come back in style?

Fifthly, spending all day at the mall sounds faboosh (thank you to AI's friend for introducing me to this word - I plan to use it everyday!!) I like cappucinos, I like wandering aimlessly and stangely I seem to have the propensity to do not much all afternoon long.

Sixthly (I don't even know if this is a word and I need to stop I know) Epponnee-Rai only appears when it is convenient to have a baby. She is miraculously elsewhere and not requiring feeding, changing, burping, entertaining etc EVER!! Don't get me wrong, I don't wish Lachie gone. Clearly Epponnee-Rai is a highly advanced baby that has learned to do all of these things herself. Perhaps I could hire her to tutor Lachie?
Lastly, wine time is definitely a fine time.

Or maybe, realistically, the thing is I just wish I was back in Australia.....

Lachie Loves the Ladies

So this is my first attempt at "blogging" and I'm not sure how long I will last as I am definitely a facebook girl! However I have been inspired by my friend Lisa's blog which is just fabulous, so we'll give it a go!

Lachie has almost reached 3 months and as I am going back to work next week, I'll use this blog as a catch up.

I titled this one, Lachie Loves the Ladies, as he really does! One of the many benefits of being the first of my close friends to have a baby means that I am surrounded by wonderful, amazing brilliant women who come visit, entertain and "learn." This has a couple of benefits! Firstly Lachie becomes guinea pig baby, dispelling "babies hate me fears" across the Bay Area. Secondly, Lachie has become a really social baby. He laughs and coos at different people all the time, and seems to thrive on it. Generally putting on a good show for friends who don't believe my tales of woo and tantrums! Clever Lachie, wrapping those ladies around his little finger already, I predict big things for him :)

Below is a montage of ladies that Lachie has put under his spell. Big hugs to the ladies who keep me sane, who are, and are not featured in the pictures below: JK, BM, JW, CG, MM, EF, SB, RS, CQ and JM (technically not a lady, but loved all the same!)
